Why we like it:

The Hawx Magna 95 is a winner for us when it comes to the more recreational skier who wants a good step up into an intermediate boot. While being comfort based, the Hawx Magna 95 still has good power transfer for casual skiing.

Who it's for:

High volume feet apply here. The Hawx Magna 95 has a wide last and soft liner, making it an excellent choice for skiers who prioritize comfort and easy skiing over compression and speed.

Highlights:

Even though it’s a more recreation option, Atomic makes sure the Hawx Magna 95 can still ski well when needed. The Prolite shell allows the Hawx Magna 95 to be light on the feet, while reinforcements in key areas provide strength and support to transfer power to the skis. Memory Fit shells can be fully heat molded in a boot oven, creating a boot that is custom to the skier’s foot. The 3D Silver liner is soft and comfortable, and has specific zones designed to stretch and form over the foot.

Things to consider:

The Hawx Magna 95 will not be a good fit for advanced skiers, or skiers who want a snug and compressive fit. The same qualities that make the boot comfortable and easy to ski will not match well for those wanting to ski aggressively.

Fit & sizing considerations:

With a 102 millimeter last and a more comfort based liner, the Hawx Magna 95 fits fairly comfortably right out of the box. Higher volume feet are definitely the target here, and the large toe box and wide forefoot do a great job keeping the foot warm and secure. While the liner is much more relaxed, with less dense materials giving the boot a soft feel, the shell still hugs the heel well.
